Lettering Generator Free vs Plus: features and licence limits
Compare free Fontilo and paid Plus for personal cards using documented features, JPG, PNG, PDF and SVG exports, and licence boundaries.
Start with your card
Start with the free generator for a personal greeting card, invitation or gift. Consider paid Plus when a specific premium font, template or documented export meets a requirement the free option cannot meet. Plus is still for private use; payment does not grant commercial rights. Fontilo terms.
This comparison uses supplied official documentation checked 29 October 2026. We have not tested accounts, exports, printers or cutters.
Choose the licence for your purpose
The official terms distinguish access from permission:
| Option | Permitted purpose |
|---|---|
| Free | Restricted fonts and features; private use only. |
| Plus | All fonts and features; private use only. |
| Business | Professional and educational use; no design resale. |
| Reseller | Professional and educational use; design resale subject to restrictions. |
The offer below is Plus. For professional work, teaching materials or cards intended for sale, review the relevant Business or Reseller terms instead.
What Plus adds
The Plus offer advertises online saving, the full font and graphics libraries, templates, watermark-free output and an ad-free app. It lists JPG, PNG (including transparency), PDF and SVG. The page describes SVG export for clean vector data and says fonts are converted into paths.
Choose Plus only if an addition solves a specific project requirement. Convenience, time savings and compatibility remain untested.
Try the free option first
The free app displays an Export control. Its free export formats are not established by the supplied observations. The terms say free use requires neither registration nor payment.
Suggested checks: create a private sample, inspect the available export choices and make a plain-paper proof at the intended size. Check lettering, margins and transparency. Continue free if it meets your needs. This is suggested verification, not a tested workflow.
Check asset rights
The terms prohibit standalone resale of fonts and graphics; permitted resale requires integration into independent products. Conflicting third-party font licences take precedence over the provider's licence. Check each font's description and the rights to any uploaded content.
Review the optional Plus offer
Use the optional offer below to review Plus for private use. Before paying, check current billing, renewal, cancellation and return conditions at checkout; those conditions have not been verified here.
